Killers Chase After Municipal Policeman (EL MEXICANO, 1/10/13 by Said BETANZOS)

TIJUANA, BC - An agent of the Municipal police was attacked by bullets in colonia Panamericano Alta, where he died from the wounds. The attack occurred around 7 a.m. on Thursday on calle Ruiz Cortinez. The policeman was identified as Ricardo Salgado Hernández, who had finished his shift at the time of the assault.

According to witnesses the attackers were aboard a Ford Explorer truck from which they shot at him with a long gun against a black colored compact auto where the officer ran behind for cover. The vehicle crashed into a post and the agent ran for shelter in a house under construction where he finally lost his life. The suspects absconded after colliding against building number 235 abandoning the Explorer there.

One detainee was unofficially captured after police officers tried to locate the rest of the accomplices. Another version points out that the attack was due to a clash between the police vehicle and the Explorer, responding, the latter shot at the agent. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/informacion/noticias/1/22/policiaca/2013/01/10/642443/ejecutan-a-policia-municipal.aspx
