TIJUANA (El Sol de Tijuana, by Manuel Cordero) – Subjects were caught with more than two kilos of marijuana with a value exceeding the 80,000 pesos, three packages of synthetic "Crystal" methamphetamines and some heroin, said agents of Policía Estatal Preventiva, the State preventive police. La Secretaria de Seguridad Publica Estatal reported that the detention of Oscar Joan López Torres, 24, was made following an anonymously made call to phone #089 to report illicit "narcomenudeo" (small-scale dealer) activities. Agents began search operations on calle Júpiter, from the lower part of la colonia Libertad, where the suspect was spotted walking and carrying a bag on his shoulder. They noted his physical features and clothing coincided with those provided by the informant and they asked to speak with him, but López Torres fled. When captured his bag was inspected to find six packets of cannabis sativa with a total weight of two kilograms. The State unit reported that amount of drugs could have produced 4,000 four thousand joints and generate more than 80,000 pesos ($6900) retail. Police also found Leticia García Rodríguez, 47, with 23 doses of heroin in the alley of el callejón Naciones Unidas, near la zona central. She was approached by the estatales preventivos who told her they had knowledge of her operations. July Bernal Carranza, 24, was arrested in callejón Amado Nervo and la avenida Madero when he was observed selling a dose of heroin to Victor Hugo Tinoco flowers, 36. In another transaction, estatales preventivos intercepted Bernal Carranza finding six heroin doses and eight packages of methamphetamine known as "glass".
