I'm So Glaad

I never thought I would blog about Perez Hilton, as I've always thought the guy was an idiot and not worth the time.

I never thought he'd top the idiotic behavior he displayed in the Miss USA pagaent.

Now, I had no problem with him asking Miss California that tough question. Many people felt it wasn't fair, as any way she answered would offend half the population. Oh well. Maybe they should be prepared for tougher questions, and not just some generic question/answer about what they would do to end world hunger.

Perez did a video blog a day or two later, calling Miss California a "stupid b*tch," which was ridiculous. He was a judge in this thing, and he feels like getting into a cat fight with a person that was already having a PR nightmare?

I was thrilled when Miss California got fired last week, and I'm sure Perez was, too.

But here's the latest with this goofball.

He called a member of the Black Eyed Peas a "fa**ot". Then he got punched.

He called 911 (not sure how that's a 911 emergency, but okay). When the police didn't show up quick enough, he posted comments on some blog about needing help and for someone to contact authorities. He made it sound like he was in a well, with a Buffalo Bill asking him to put the lotion in the basket (although...I'm guessing that's probably something he'd enjoy).

Now he issued a two page comment, that is anything but an apology. It was kind of like Lettermans first "apology" to Sarah Palin.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation wanted him to apologize, for using such an ugly word.

And I'm so glad that GLAAD took this stand. I often wish people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would do things like this, instead of them constantly being caught using racial slurs themselves. What those two do in the name of helping their race, actually sets things back.

I grew up playing basketball, and often heard black guys calling each other the n word. And some white people would say "Why are they allowed to say it, and we aren't?" To me, if you have to entertain why that is, you're an idiot. Friends can call each other all kinds of things. There's a big difference, though, if a stranger uses the word. And their should be.

One of the things Perez said is "I am not, nor have I ever claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community.''

Well, that's the same faulty logic Charles Barkley used when he said he wasn't a role model, but that kids parents should be. Well, Sir Charles, the problem with that is...if the parent can't dunk a basketball the way you and Jordan could, or ride a skateboard the way Tony Hawk does...the kids are going to gravitate towards thinking the athletes are cooler.

Nobody says anyone has to be a "role model", just for the kids sake. How about acting like a decent human, for the good of everyone.

I would love to ask Perez what he would've done if Miss California had answered his tough question with a response like "I think marriage is between a man and a woman. It's not between a man and two women. It's not between two fa**ots. And sorry, Perez, if that means you can't marry Ryan Seacrest."

I'm guessing Perez would've had a kinipshin fit right there.

And then called 911.
