Proposition 8: Indecent Proposal
As in all political campaigns......unfortunately; the truth seems to be an occasional option. I don't believe in the accuracy of the polls. Plus, when you look at the people who are voting on both sides there is a stark difference. Remember, the conservatives are considered the "silent masses." Historically, you will find that people will say one thing in public, but the results show up differently.— November 11, 2008 12:38 p.m.
Proposition 8: Indecent Proposal
Where is marriage in the Constitution? Are they looking for the title of marriage? If people are living together as partners (straight or gay) there is common law that gives them the vast majority of the benefits as a married couple.— November 10, 2008 12:09 p.m.
Proposition 8: Indecent Proposal
I couldn't agree more. On one aspect of your article: One person's vote should not be more than another person's vote. The vote a couple of years ago is was passed with a 61%. Four judges decided that the 61% of voters don't know what they are talking about and took away their votes by allowing gay marriage. Isn't that making one person's vote worth more than another?— November 10, 2008 10:18 a.m.
Snickering at Proposition 8
Ponzi, look in last week's edition and you will find an ad for No on 8. Is it possible that proposition was more about not being controlled by government than gay marriage? Don't you find it disturbing that judges changed the will of the people? Do you remember that 61% of the voters in CA were against gay marriage a couple of years ago? So four California judges have decided that the people of California don't know what is the right thing to do. So we will decide for the poor stupid people. These judges have done the same as the politicians have regularly done. Wastefully, spend the taxpayer's money. How many millions of dollars could have been used to help the schools instead fighting over the same issue that we already agreed on a couple of years ago? Marriage is taught in schools. There were school teachers and children who went to a gay marriage. I think that they called it a noteworthy event. Did those same teachers ever take children to a traditional marriage? Isn't that just as noteworthy? Look at how PC the world has become. Schools feel that they need to rewrite the history books to be PC. Please tell me how you do that without altering the story. More importantly, tell them how to do it. Because they are changing the past. How many years and rewriting will it take before children don't know that there was slavery? I how that the reality stays so that our children don't make similar mistakes. Feel free to call me homophobic, but since I have gay friends and family (which I still see, hug and love)you have no legs to stand. By the way, is it possible to be hetero phobic?— November 6, 2008 9:24 p.m.
