"Spirit of Sovereignty Celebration of Native Culture" -- 04/20/08 at U.S. Grant Hotel
The purpose of my comment is to alert prospective ticket buyers to some aspects of the play of which they may not be aware. (I specifically looked for this information before attending so I could make an informed choice and found it unavailable.) First of all, there is some profanity including cursing and one scene in which cast members appear in their underwear. Most problematic for me though is the notion throughout the play that sex without marriage is the norm and somehow a funny subject. I recognize this sort of thing goes on in the world and is a part of some people's lives but frankly when I hear the word "condom" in a play that's supposed to be a musical-comedy the laughter stops, the yawning begins and the word "agenda" comes to mind. If this is the sort of thing that turns your crank don't let me stop you. The performers all did a fine job and there were some funny scenes. Just know what you're in for.— May 20, 2008 3:18 p.m.
