Big Kahuna Flavors
This place is great! I've eaten at both locations and I highly reccommend them :)— July 8, 2009 4:47 p.m.
Beach Booze Banter
Hopefully the people that drink on the beach will actually go out and vote against this ban. Unfortunately the people that show up at the polls are usually older family types that no longer have much of a social life, and therefore do not drink on the beach. These people make more money, pay more taxes, and have more influence over the politicians. It simple socioeconomics. Families with children from other places moved to the beaches during the housing boom and changed the fun, freewheeling culture the area has enjoyed for many years. Please do not take away any more of my rights, VOTE AGAINST THE BOOZE BAN!— August 14, 2008 12:13 p.m.
Avenida de la Playa a free-for-all for kayak rentals
This is the same thing that happened in PB. People come in and buy homes and are not aware of how it works when you live in a tourist-driven coastal community. Let the people kayak, they were paddling long before most of you lived in LaJolla Shores. If you want a quiet neighborhood with a good view, move to a lake or the mountains but don't take away the rights of the tax paying public to enjoy the ocean. New homeowners and old folks that don't even enjoy the beach anymore took away the right to drink on the beach in P.B, O.B, and Mission, when there were plenty of other locations on the coast for family oriented enjoyment. That so-called riot on the beach was an excuse foer the politicians to take away more rights so they can get votes and make their wallets fatter.— April 2, 2008 4:56 p.m.
