Forecast: rain and over $200 billion
Just wondering if the 2.2% growth calculations use PCE or CPI and how those calculations would change. Also with a rise in population wouldn't you expect a rise in output.— November 1, 2014 11:19 a.m.
San Diego's economic recovery lags state, nation
And then there is this little piece in Fridays UT. Talk about spin! http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/nov/21/beacon…— November 22, 2013 7:23 p.m.
San Diego tourism lags other California cities
Two points. 1. While I do believe our infrastructure is in need of repair, I do not think the vast majority of parks, beaches and attractions that tourists visit are run down at all. I use and frequent many of these sites and find them to be in good shape. 2. The San Diego region has always been known as a cheap place to visit and attracts a different crowd than other areas. Yes, we do get high-rollers at some of the conferences but many people come to visit because their dollar goes farther. As the economy has stagnated we are getting more of those. I think a very low percentage of our hotels are luxurious grade and many flush tourists who do visit stay in rental condos which don't show up in the stats.— October 23, 2013 8:05 p.m.
California homes remain nation's most expensive
Cunningham blames strict growth controls and restrictive land use regulations for the big increase in the price of California homes. Read more: http://www.sandiegoreader.com/weblogs/news-ticker… Maybe the real cause is all cash investors soaking up inventory.— September 20, 2013 4:56 p.m.
If you want streets repaired, it looks like you can forget it
Once the unions switched sides to get construction jobs the expansion was a done deal.— July 20, 2013 7:41 p.m.
In P.B. the hotter you are the easier it is not to care
Writing is not bad, still with the limited outlets for writers in this town it's a shame to give voice to someone who has nothing remotely profound to say.— April 18, 2013 9:48 p.m.
Report blasts CPUC's laxity toward safety
What do you think Don? Will Gov Brown give him the heave ho?— April 17, 2013 4:54 p.m.
Your SDGE bill may be going up 7.7%
It's a back door grab. Increasing rates to trim trees and brush. Thats the cost of doing business not a added cost. Crooked scheme facilitated by the CPUC.— March 30, 2013 8:15 p.m.
SD February unemployment falls to 8%
This is great news. We will see if it holds because I think defense job cuts are on the horizon.— March 30, 2013 8:07 p.m.

I predict hybrids are a comming trend and this one sets the bar!— March 17, 2013 12:18 p.m.
