L.A. Stories
"We all enjoyed Van Morrison’s anniversary tribute to Astral Weeks and then picked up some wine for the ride home." That's all you've got to say about this historic concert? The rest is about the scene. You are the kind of hoser that should just buy the DVD and put it unopened on display somewhere. Concerts are for music fans who are there for the music and care about it. You do write pretty well though.— October 1, 2009 9:34 a.m.
North Clairemont library – all things to all patrons
What happened to libraries as places of quiet refuge? We need such places, especially in urban environments. Most libraries now might as well be branches of a chain bookstore. Between cell phone users and librarians speaking as if they were on the floor of a factory the opportunities for peaceful reading and browsing have largely died. If the people who run our libraries won't allow the citizens to have appropriate oversight, maybe they can at least promote an environment of courtesy and respect, or answer as to why they no longer bother.
