Coronado water-polo coach banned from campus
Randy Burgess coached me in his early years at Coronado High School. His coaching style taught me how to endure and never give up. His coaching techniques pushed all of us to our extremes. He worked us hard and conditioned us to be top athletes. I believe this is the reason, among others, that he was a successful water polo coach. The work ethic he put into me, as well as a belief in myself that I could get through anything, endured with me throughout my career in law enforcement. I have no doubt he has had the same effect on others. During the time I knew Coach Burgess, I never saw any improprieties. I have nothing but praise for him as a coach. The successes he achieved in water polo could only have been accomplished through his dedication and hard work.— November 17, 2017 11:12 p.m.
