Bypassing Bylaws in Golden Hill
Shades of 1776. Hey GGHCDC, did you know that the slogan "No taxation without representation" began in the period from 1763–1776 that summarized a primary grievance of the British colonists in the original Thirteen Colonies. In short, many in those colonies believed the lack of direct representation in the distant British Parliament was an illegal denial of their rights as Englishmen, and therefore laws taxing the colonists (you know like the ones you're trying to currently perpetrate), and other laws applying only to the colonies, were unconstitutional. It's obvious that you all don't care about the precepts of the U.S. Constitution but you'd think that maybe you'd learn from history. Well history does have a habit of repeating itself now doesn't it and well, we all know what happened to England back then, don't we. Itsa comin' and ya best get ready.— September 18, 2009 11:41 a.m.
MAD: Monies Available for Debauchery
More like a group that will guarantee themselves and thier cronies, not us the taxpayer, financial support for thier own shining light special projects. Remember, the MAD funds are really only supposed to go to the business district and common areas not to upkeep of residential neighborhoods. That kind of thing is already covered under the taxes we already pay...trash pickup, graffiti removal, etc. Golden Hill is undergoing a renniassance based on financial necessity and urban core development moving ever closer to it. The trash is moving out and people who care are moving in and spending thier own hard-earned money to renovate thier properties as my wife and I are. I love the area as much as anybody but I don't love a pack of crooked municipal bastards who are hell bent on obsconding with duplicative funds over and above what I already pay for the same damn services. Wake up and smell the reality.— September 18, 2009 11:23 a.m.
Bypassing Bylaws in Golden Hill
What an absolute crock of crap and pack of crooked, collusional idiots. In the last oversight committee meeting, I coined the MAd as an acronym for Monies Available for Debauchery. Now I'm coining the GGHCDC acronym as representative of "Greater Golden Hill Center for Deception, Corruption, and Collusion." Oops sorry CDC, I threw in an extra “C” but given what you’re trying to perpetrate, I think it fits, don’t you!!!!! So this is obviously the blueprint of how these arrogant swaggering crooks must do it from district to district and deceive the public in the following way. One, they initally ramrod the MAD in against popular vote through City land area and a weighted City vote. Two, they initially allow a MAD oversight committee voted in by the public to make us think we have a say and appease us. Three, they then later let us know that the oversight committee has no legal authority and that the CDC can do whatever they want….you know the old fox in the henhouse thing. Four, they then replace the oversight committee with their own proponents when the oversight committee actually does what they were really elected to do….represent the people. That about right Pedro?? I wonder how many of the CDC proponents that will be shoehorned in belong to the Friends of 32nd Street or some other loose organization of money-grubbers hellbent on using our collective money to support one of their pet projects versus the community at large?? Hey Friends, I heard your replacement trees were stolen…you know the ones that were supposed to replace the native flora you ripped out and didn’t like. So I’m wondering, will you now use more of our money to replace them, costing us even more??? Further, I wonder if the entity they paid $5,000 of our money to to design a $300 logo was one of the CDC's members friends or family?? You morons really are about as transparent as a pane of glass. And given my contacts in the governor’s office, I'm in discussion with the State Attorney General's office as we speak regarding your blatant and unscrupulous attempts to enact and wring more money out of residential homeowners who already pay for taxes for the very things the MAD supposedly encompasses. You bastards want a revolution. Guess what. You just got one.— September 18, 2009 11:09 a.m.
MAD: Monies Available for Debauchery
The MAD is a joke and is nothing but a crop of money extracted from taxpayers who already pay city taxes to fund special interests and administrators by the crooked GGHCDC. And by crooked I mean crooked. A lame duck advisory committee who should be representing us but who the CDC has relegated to no legal power and a deaf ear to boot. Then take a look at Steve Kessler, the former (fired) unscupulous CDC pondscum that was nailed for improprieties related to both HUD and our MAD funds. Now enter newbie Pedro to smooth that debackle over and make people think the CDC really cares and is on the up and up. What a crock!!! And what do we pay this CDC clown to basically do nothing??? The MAD was voted in by a lopsided municipal vote based on land area that gave it a majority win, not by Golden Hill citizens. The money is supposed to be used for services that are mostly redundant with services we already pay for and are already supplied by the City. Or to fund canyon beautification projects for the Friends of 32nd Street (obviously pals of the CDC) consisting of extraction of native xerophytic vegetation, replacement with more pleasing non-native vegetation, and then supplying said vegetation with precious water. Now that's an interesting application of MAD money being used so a few folks neighboring a canyon can view pretty plants. When in the meantime, I have to replace the sidewalk in front of my own house and view a near-dead tree with a few leaf clusters that the city morons just came and trimmed. I wonder who authorized that???? Guess what Friends, I'm gonna check into that and find out what is going on. Count on it. Worse yet was the current estimated Clean Green and Safe (more smoke and mirrors) budget of 279K when there is about 670K worth of funds that still remain from the past two years of MAD assessments and that is still unaccounted for. WHERE IS THAT MONEY CDC!!!!! All, see Hal Tyvoll's excellent letter (addressed to our friend Pedro) on the travesty of the GGHCDC, the amazing blatant illegalities that are being knowingly perpetrated by them, the pending lawsuits against them, and what's really going on, or more to the point...not going on, with our money. You're being used as is your money. As I coined in the last advisory committee meeting, MAD equals Monies Available for Debauchery. And in terms of the GGHCDC, nothing could be closer to the truth.— July 11, 2009 10:41 p.m.
