While it's apparent that some in-depth investigating went on for this story, I find it interesting that some basic facts are indeed wrong. It concludes with saying that Senate Commerce Committee is doing the requisite background checks. Senate Commerce doesn't have jurisdiction over the nominee for the Commissioner of Customs though and would not be performing background checks, Senate Finance does.— November 18, 2009 2:54 p.m.
