New beachfront homes to be built in Ocean Beach
This is the beginning of the end for Ocean Beach as we know it. Over the next twenty years it will be transformed into a smaller version of La Jolla with rude drivers and small boutiques selling overpriced trinkets and perfume.— October 18, 2013 3:25 p.m.
City attorney Goldsmith boasted how he worked on Filner ouster for 8 months
Jan needs to get a new rug for his head. The one he has now looks like something you would find at the Halloween section at Big Lots.— October 18, 2013 9:11 a.m.
Postal Service numbers reveal weak U-T circulation
Those circulation numbers are pathetic. Manchester bought an overpriced white elephant.— October 8, 2013 7:54 p.m.
Magazine tells clearly how NFL fleeces taxpayer
I noticed that when a team has a winning season the voices of the people advocating a new stadium or arena get louder. This includes the fans also. If my memory is correct the year that San Diego voters passed a ballot measure to subsidize the construction of Petco Park was a year that the Padres either made it to the playoffs or the world series. For this reason it would be good if the chargers have a losing season for this year and into the future. But all of this won't matter if a corporate welfare mayor gets elected. And it certainly would not stop John Lynch and Doug Manchester in asking for a new luxury skybox.— September 23, 2013 7:20 p.m.
Casting call: Headlock'd: The Bob Filner Story
Selena Gomez as Peggy Shannon would not work in this situation. If she was not already six feet under I think Shelley Winters would be more appropriate for Peggy Shannon. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/s…— September 7, 2013 1:39 p.m.
Qualcomm's Jacobs fishing for funds for Fletcher
So if its a matter of fixing the pension system or taking care of city infrastructure fixing the pension system wins?— September 6, 2013 6:21 p.m.
Combined convention center/stadium? Or neither?
Mission Valley is already a poorly planned mess. Parking is a hassle along with the traffic. And all those cookie cutter apartment and condominium complexes packed in like sardines.— September 6, 2013 6:05 p.m.
Papa Doug Manchester picks Siberian bride-to-be
She better hire an Attorney to interpret the prenuptial agreement. It will obviously be slanted in his favor.— September 6, 2013 5:35 p.m.
Qualcomm's Jacobs fishing for funds for Fletcher
If Nathan Fletcher gets elected as a result of the efforts of Paul Jacobs what kind of payback do you think will be expected of him as Mayor? Of the Democratic candidates it looks like Nathan Fletcher is the most likely to support corporate welfare projects. I think Mike Aguirre is the best candidate because he will not sell out to corporate interests.— September 6, 2013 5:30 p.m.
Papa Doug Manchester picks Siberian bride-to-be
She went from Bankrupt Brantley to Moneybags Manchester.— September 4, 2013 8:55 a.m.
