Superintendent Jesus Gandara “Separated” From Sweetwater Union High School District
Thanks Fred Williams for getting Vigilant's video up. Revealing clip. I understand that McCann's wife is on the Republican central committee along with Derek Roach the private detective who has launched so many smear campaigns in Chula Vista.— June 26, 2011 12:31 p.m.
Isolate, Expose, Avoid
Ramrod, I'm not sure everyone in the South Bay appreciates the toll road--even before it filed for chapter 11. Wasn't Hom the Co-chair of citizens for 125 the promoters of the project?— August 19, 2010 12:51 p.m.
P.O.'d P.I.
Roach twitted that he was going to the meeting. Great coverage for him.— July 28, 2010 11:02 p.m.
How San Diego hospitals bend will reduce charges on your bill
Great article. In these times we need stories like this and the useful supporting research. Thanks— July 10, 2010 1:13 p.m.
Chula Vista's former police head David Bejarano accused of check fraud by partner
So, is this a self-dealing transaction? That 49% of the board of directors can have contracts with the "non-profit" agency puts non-profits in a new light.— July 1, 2010 2:41 p.m.
Crash Tax
I can't see this as viable if the only person who gets charged is the person who pays taxes and buys insurance. Shake some pennies loose elsewhere Chula Vista.— June 19, 2010 9:45 p.m.
Spirited Debate
"Double, double, toil and trouble Fire burn, and cauldron bubble" Hmmm, let's see. The cv city council and the chamber of commerce took a position against Prop G but mayor cox supports it. I wonder why she would do that? and now, with this curious turn of events, prop g endangering the bayfront development, some are wondering if they should support prop g to defeat the development.....— April 21, 2010 4:39 p.m.
Suspect Solution
Chula Vista still believes it can develop its way out of anything. The reality will be years of infrastructure debt. If you were going to buy an expensive condo on the bayfront, why would you buy one on a toxic site, in an industrial area with weak choices for schools and restaurants? For that matter, would you book a convention in Chula Vista or San Diego? The city needs to get more creative. The bayfront has unique natural resources. Cultivate them and package them for tourists.— April 10, 2010 3:06 p.m.
