Plan for a Grantville population boom
Yes, young people will not be able to find *desired* housing and they will leave. Assuming most of them are skilled some companies will relocate to tap into that skilled workforce. Although the inane taxation out of Sacramento will drive out companies far faster than a lack of skilled millennials. In either case the local economy will falter, vacancies will increase, housing will devalue and then the area will be ripe for a new influx of *skilled workers* and companies seeking locations with lower wage loads and financial/taxation incentives from local and state government. The Gaia theory. Leave it alone and it will regulate itself on its own timetable. No need to constantly put body english on everything.— January 9, 2015 10:11 a.m.
Then along came the $100,000 -- City Attorney and councilmember question two mystery checks from Sunroad
The article stated that the money went to fund pet projects. I was not insinuating that the mayor took money personally, "being bought". My *opinion* is more like an opportunity was seized to get some pet projects funded outside of normal city budgeting.— June 12, 2013 6:48 p.m.
Then along came the $100,000 -- City Attorney and councilmember question two mystery checks from Sunroad
If that is the entirety of the process, why are there checks?— June 12, 2013 4:59 p.m.
Then along came the $100,000 -- City Attorney and councilmember question two mystery checks from Sunroad
Seems like a classic political shakedown to me. 1. City council grants setback access. 2. Mayor vetoes it. 3. Some communication takes place between Mayor and Sunroad 4. Checks come in. 5. Mayor asks council to override his previous veto. What am I missing? We don't know #3 happened but there aren't many puzzle pieces that would fit in that spot. We are getting an infusion of DC politics into our local politics. Always get something for anything? Never let a conflict go to waste?— June 12, 2013 4:57 p.m.
