Roping Dogs
I have a wonderful Blue nose that I trust with my kids and I still keep her harnessed because of all the skiddish people around. It has to be the funniest thing in the world when you see people actually cross the street because they see a 7 month old girl waddling up to them. I think that most dogs, if not all belong on a leash. No matter what we think, dogs are dogs, they will react or act, even if they were trained not to. I just do it to make others more comfortable either walking next to or just passing by their place. I do not understand why people think they have the right to stop you on the street and let you know " you have the most violent beed of dog" and other lame comments like that. Well based on statistics (since that is where they are getting their opinions) 30-45 year old white men are responsible for more child abuse and molestation on minors than any other race, I should let every white man I see , That I am watching them. People need to keep personal opinions to themselves unless they have done some research. Cocker spaniels and Akitas are responsible for more bites per year than any other dog breed. Every time I walk my dog, the only dogs that seem like they might bite you are the " rats on a leash" they snip at your ankles, they bark at everything and let me tell you, I am truly afraid I might crush one of them. I do not understand why people who are afraid of a bigger dogs hurting their little things, let them run up to my dog. Control them people, if my pup wasn't as well behaved as she is, could eat them. Dogs are dogs and I think half the dogs at dog beach belong on a short leash. I see so many fights and owners yelling at other people about their dogs. My girl stays on a leash the whole time , not because of her, but because of all the irresponsible owners letting their dogs run wild, hoping that they will listen during crunch time.— July 25, 2008 10:37 p.m.

WOW, I cannot believe this is such a problem and I had no idea. After reading this article I went online and did some research. I believe that this has to be the worst "unknown" drug there is. I have never heard of anyone dying until yesterday from an OD of Methadone. I am 25 years old and I don't know a single person that even had a clue about the effects and death rate of this horrible drug. i must have called 20 people and this only shows me that there needs to be some kind of petition or add campaign letting kids know about this drug. Also I believe that both Doctors and People that knowingly gave methadone to a minor or someone who it was not prescribed to, should be tried under 2nd degree murder or at least 1st degree manslaughter. I couldn't find much about cases where doctors or anyone for that matter has been convicted of much more than a slap on the wrist. I have been told that I " glide" or "float" when I walk. I about 6' and 200 plus. I just walk heal to toe , but if you watch, my shoulders do not move vertically and I walk very lightly. So I guess when I walk you do not see or hear much. I have no idea why or how, but my little sister(100 pounds fully clothed and soaking wet) pounds her feet into the ground when she walks. I swear she weights 300 lbs. I can hear and feel her approaching on concrete.... Any one have any idea why people " pound their feet" when they walk and are there any adverse side affects( bones joints , etc) caused from that. I feel they are not shifting their weight properly. Another sunny day in Ocean beach.. PS. I take my Blue nose to Dog Beach all the time and in my opinion, many of the people have lazy/ casual walk. Hello, I am sorry for you loss and I hope that this story and that Law will push for more stringent prescription writing and also more accountability for the people that are giving them to kids and also the people writing the prescriptions. I can not believe that the person that gave her these pills is only getting 4-6 years. The only reason why that girl passed away was because she was given methadone... They use that for heroin addicts trying to kick the habit. How did that person get them in the first place and why would she have so much " left over". This was unnecessary and I believe that this person should be made an example of. I know many people that have either bought or sold prescription pills. I do not think that people realize how often this kind of OD or abuse happens. I hope that people will wake up and realize the problem and address what needs to be changed. I am really sorry for your loss, I lost 2 people close to me this year, one to cancer and the other to suicide. LOL, they socially accepted way of life in OB is one of binge drinking and substance abuse. if a dog attacks my dog, There are two things I did wrong, Let my dog associate with bigger , mean dogs.. and did not protect my dog. I am her owner and let me tell you , I would put myself in front of another dog if he/ she was aggressive. Never take you dog off the leash. I don't . No ,matter what people think, dogs are dogs and if they want to , they will attack. i agree, the owners of those dogs are just as bad as the dog. But hey, whay not put a special dog patrol that would monitor dogs on the beach and ticket people who doesn't have aggressive dog on a leash. you have to realize that people are attacked by Dobemans, rot's and Akitas just as often as Pits. But you haveto realize that if two dogs get into a fight, thats normal. If a dog and a pit get into a fight, it makes headlines. Almost 50% of attacks reported as " Pit Bull attacks" are actually other breeds of dogs, but they will get more coverage and readers if it says pit bulls.. We have been though this before, It was call the "Salem Witch Hunt" .. If enough people believe something, it becomes a fact.. Knowledge is power..— July 20, 2008 1:17 p.m.

Ok, fair enough..... If you take a step back and realize, that one, this is the only county in California that drinking is legal. If you call the police department and ask for statistics on crime in your area, you will find that alcohol related crimes and accidents are higher than any other city in CA. I used to live in Redondo Beach and there weren't people drinking in alleys, in cars ,.. etc.. they just know that you are not allowed to drink on the beach. I paid almost double what I pay here and people weren't complaining about their right to drink. Show me where it says , " you have the right to drink on the beach" .. If thats the case, I wonder why you don't complain about not being about to drink in a movie theater.. I love to drink a bit and watch a funny movie. or why not letting others drink in the car.. I love to drive in cars and be buzzed. If we trust the driver won't drink, why should we have to give up our right to drink on my property, IE my car, then banning booze on the beach, should have the same effect as banning smoking in public. I smoke , but I dont feel I have the right to put others at risk and if you do not want to deal with all the things that other people think is their right, we need to come to an agreement on what is best for everyone.. And to address your comment, not everyone is part of the masses. You choose your side.. Some people are sheep and others are sheep dogs.... Always on the look out for the wolves of this day and age... Just love your neighbor and realize that other people have just as much of a "right" to ask for people not to drink on the beach. Well it is like they say, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. My comment was to the fact the not only are most of the renters in this city, college student, but most of the people .. Old and young were either pot heads or drank everyday. Well the only thing I can say Is , One its the owner, not the dog. I have a pit bull and she is the sweetest dog, and if you look the most aggressive dogs towards humans and other dogs are dobermans, rotty's and akitas. So everyone is entitled to their opinion's but if you as a citizen want a change or improvement, you have to take action. Cops suck but with out them, society would and has failed. ... to continue. I have been on my own since I was seventeen. I could have given up, I could have become what most are, a leech on a good country, but I chose to move forward and perservire. When I couldn't pay my bills, I cleaned houses, mowed lawns, suck up your pride and get it done. I am licensed investment Executive, made millions in equipment sales and came from nothing.... Nothing and when you see able bodied man begging for money, he's just going to use my money to get messed up. Neither I nor anyone else has to support that, for you to have a good time. What do I get for my troubles, some guys asking if I have any spare change? When you buy them food, they look at you like " what am I supposed to do with that". So to answer this once and for all, Get a job, find a way , but don't spend your time and our money having a good time on someone else's dime. Just realize something, not all people have the best intentions and when I can prevent something that will benefit others safety and well being, I would feel guilty not doing all you can as an individual. To answer your question/accusation, I don't have anything against people that have fallen on hard times. Do not point fingers .I DO NOT HAVE COMPASSION for the 20 year old drug addicts sleeping on the beach.To lazy to grow up and live life, to defiant to suck up their pride and go home and grow up. Maybe they do not have a home; they have shelters for the people trying to change their lives. These people are satisfied with less than minimum and will do almost anything to sustain their free way of life. People are entitled to a safe environment that we all pay for. If you want to be a part of that, you should have to abide by the same laws and rules. To address your story about the children and the beach, that’s like comparing apples to oranges. The safety and well being of a child or children are not even in the same ballpark as banning beer (a luxury to most). How about this, since you want to be able to drink on the beach, what if YOU had to take a class and get certified to drink safely and responsibly on the beach or in public places and then pay a tax. Make sense to you? Well if you want to lift the ban, I think that you should have to take the class and pay a fee so that the people that are abusing it will be liable for their actions. To often a person or persons fall victim to another’s inability to control their alcohol. Either to vandalism or violence or just slanderous things. I like to drink, but if it means that we can have a safer, happier place for "people" to be in, I will give that up in a heart beat. People like you are the ones that believe that all people are good and no one does bad. In your fantasyland, are there rides!!!!!! Cause if the masses are left uncontrolled and unsupervised, they will fail. History tells a story that I did not write. That is why we have religion. No belief in your system and it will always fail. Guess what not all, not most but some... some bums/ homeless/ vagrants were or are good people. I love this area.. but like someone else said , there is a limit. I think the bans on booze and increased police force has improved our way of life, the community has to step up and take back there city. I feel a lot of the problems we have are stemmed from all of the renters in this area. Not to say that all are bad, just some kids and other trouble makers, who's parents give them money to be someone else problem. I have neighbors that party every night of the week. I was young too , but there has to be a limit. If not, you will see the quality of life here diminish, not improve. Also the parking sucks if you have friends in town.
