Who's investigating Filner? It's who's NOT investigating him
In this age of female empowerment, where did Bob Filner find all these timid women? Oh, let me guess: Most of them claim to have been harassed before Filner became Mayor, most of them were never his subordinates, most of them are Republicans. Bob’s political enemies seem to be crawling out of the woodwork to take him down. The claims of “strong, competent women” coming forward seems questionable. I wouldn’t want to trust my business affairs to such “STRONG” women. Where were they all this time, before whining to Donna Frye? I’m disappointed, Donna. Apparently, the only thing strong thing about these women is you. Asking a woman, who is not a subordinate, for a date and leaving when she refused, has now become harassment? Since when? A headlock is harassment? No – that’s battery and she should have reported it to the police immediately. A one-time pinch or hug for a non-subordinate is harassment? Better stay out of Europe, Africa, Asia, Central and South America. We can sympathize with an employee who never came forward due to fears for her much-needed job. Surely, some woman, somewhere, got back into her harasser’s face and put him down. This is, after all, the age of female empowerment. Why haven’t any of these women come forward? Aren’t there any? Back in the dark ages when female harassment was common and accepted, many of us never accepted that behavior without giving it back in spades. This situation quickly developed the stench of a witch-hunt, and makes me suspicious that it is all contrived to damage a Mayor who is moving excess funds from the downtown establishment, and into the rest of San Diego. deebeefc— August 6, 2013 4:29 p.m.
