Drive-In Theaters in San Diego: Complete Illustrated History 1947 thru 2008 (45 new pics added 7-4-09!)
Terrific piece. My father was a Motion Picture Projectionist in San Diego for over 50 years, topping the union's seniority list for several years. He worked some of the Drive-Ins but mostly the theater houses. The Russo name was well known to us as Dad worked all of their shows. I spent most of my young years at the theaters with Dad. The Strand, Orpheum, Fox, Balboa, Tower....you name it. It's an era gone with the wind. I so remember most of the Drive-Ins mentioned in your article and learned so much from the text.
