B for Barack
Well, the link above to the Pittsburg news site NOW says.... "Ashley Todd -- who has a backward letter "B" scratched into her right cheek -- confessed to faking the story and will be charged with filing a false report, Assistant Police Chief Maurita Bryant said at a news conference Friday." SO SHE WAS LYING!!!! Just like Josh thought, and only arrested for filing a false police report. That didn't take long!!— October 24, 2008 2:06 p.m.
Trick or Treat -- Football Edition
I agree with your comments, players say they want a ring, but it is all about the money. Why do MOST players go to an average team for the money, when they could stay with a team that has a shot at the championship for less?? Happens all the time, whether BB or FB. My fantasy league is not for much money, so I would want the Rams to win the Super Bowl....Now, if you are talking REAL money, then I too would go for the green ; ) BTW, Jordan has 6 rings. Two sets of three-peats.(1991-93, 1996-98)— October 23, 2008 11:28 a.m.
Tanning Light, Beer vs. Soda, 420
Goinfar, why isnt it 422 then if it is supposed to be after earth day??? Matt DID do his research, and his answer is fairly plausible. See www.waldo420.com they are the original Marin county kids. or go here for a VERY detailed answer to the question... http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sfo/2884925.… BTW, pepsi is nasty and beer is tasty : )— October 23, 2008 11:13 a.m.
Odd Couple Oddities
As we all know, actors are not the brightest candles on the birthday cake of life. Besides some names just being asinine, they can also have farther reaching implications than most realize. There was a 15 year study by Leif Nelson at UCSD and Joseph Simmons from Yale, that showed a correlation between first names and GPA in students. The kids with a name starting with an 'A' or 'B' received higher grades (on average) than those with a first name starting with 'C' or 'D'. You can read about it here if interested.... http://www.physorg.com/news114263153.html My name starts with an 'A', and I did do very well in school, though you may not think so with the comments I make : ) I think Felix is screwed!— October 22, 2008 12:27 p.m.
Trick or Treat -- Football Edition
Only a true fan that is true to his team, in good times (2000-2002) and bad times...aarrgg since 2003. Everyone hates a bandwagon fan, so don't give me crap about my (at the moment) crappy team : ) I will root for them and be happy when S. Jackson kicks butt....like last weekend. BONUS...he is my stud on my Fantasy team. I am 6-1....I like the sound of that! Go Rams— October 22, 2008 12:02 p.m.
W - Not the Hotel, the Movie
I agree! The Express is about the FIRST AA to win the heisman. How many blacks were even playing at a top college back then, let alone black coaches...OF COURSE they are going to show the white coach a bunch, it is as much a story of him taking a stand and letting the express play, when most of the south didn't want to even play black players. The coach should be celebrated as much as the player.— October 22, 2008 11:58 a.m.
Trick or Treat -- Football Edition
Your first sentence is sticking in our minds, so nobody wants to comment. Tough loss. Being a Rams fan, I am all giddy with the past weekend, so will comment. : ) I don't agree with your anger with the HS football taking advantage of the rules. In this day and age, HS sports are about WINNING, not teaching. Should be the other way around, but it isn't. Teaching is for little kids, not teenagers. The HS football players need to win.... For the coach to have a job, alumni to fund the program, fans to fill the stands and buy stuff, and to elevate their status for college scholarships. College football is even worse, (from the money aspect)....just look at the BCS with no playoffs!! If money/winning was not the issue, we would have a clear cut #1 team at the end of each year with a playoff system. As far as the Pros go, I agree with you that QBs should NOT have extra rules about not getting hit. They should play under the same rules everyone else plays under. There are too many rules to protect the QB. The QB can throw a pass high in the middle, knowing the WR is going to get nailed, but the QB is treated like a glass vase. I say if he can put his teammates in harms way, he should also expect the same.— October 21, 2008 1:11 p.m.
Saturday Night Sarah
Ha Ha, you are still need help with spelling. BIDEN, JOE BIDEN. Not Bider LOL, pretty funny. I know, you probably meant to do that. To the amazement of my wife, we do not have TIVO either, and YES, I still have a VCR...though it is collecting dust. SNL has not been worth watching for a decade or so. Every time I have checked, it is not funny.— October 21, 2008 12:33 p.m.
W - Not the Hotel, the Movie
By the amount of comments on this topic, it looks like not many others are going to go see it either. You can watch the news shows bash the President for free, so it is a waste of money to pay for the same. I agree with you 100% that you should not make up stories when making a movie about a "real" person. Stick to the facts. Whenever I watch a movie that includes dubious info, it makes me wonder about the entire movie. Is it real or fiction???— October 20, 2008 1:18 p.m.
Red Red Vines
I get where you are coming from on the Dr. Pepper/Mr. Pibb thing. I hate Diet Pepsi, but drink way too much Diet Coke. When I order a Diet Coke, most places will ask if Diet Pepsi is OK. NO, it is not. I change what I am drinking. I can tell the difference. Pepsi and Coke distibute to all the restaurants and fast food joints. They have one or the other, but not both. It is a bummer when after ordering I find out it is a Pepsi place. I am with Antigeekess, I don't like licorice either, it is nasty IMHO. Plus it sticks in your teeth way too long.— October 9, 2008 3:32 p.m.
