Facebook Poll Suggests Retirement for Padres Announcer Dick Enberg
Dick Enberg has done an excellent job and has great chemistry with Mark Grant. Dick brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and his stories of the history of baseball are wonderful. I believe that as the Padres' season has slipped there are calls for changes. The broadcast team is not responsible for the Padres' play on the field. Being a small market team it is tough to compete against the large market teams on a day-by-day basis. The Padres have an exciting group of young players and I believe that they are trying to field a winning team. With a "vote" of just more than 200 people - I am surprised this article made it onto the Yahoo News section. Like a lot of blogs its a minority of people who make noise and the majority are silent. Dick Enberg is an excellent broadcaster and the majority of Padre fans look forward to his "Oh My" call of Padre games for many years to come.— July 19, 2011 7:35 a.m.
