Anarchy Was a Bonus
With such a major surf/skate industry presence in SD, I'm also surprised that no one from that uh, sub-culture has made an effort to bring the skate park back to life! What's the deal?— June 29, 2009 3:49 p.m.
No More Eyesore in O.B.
Why be humble? Tourists are jealous of San Diego residents! This is a vacation destination, my friends! My family back east has major geographic envy. Do we really want visitors to see our beautiful & diverse SD looking like crap? Heck no. Take some pride in being a resident, I say! I applaud the participants in this project & appreciate their time & hard work in making our "home" look as lovely as it truly is. I doubt the dirty birds trashing our landscape even read this site...but heck, I feel better just sharing my thoughts. Cheers.— June 29, 2009 3:44 p.m.
Fans Staying Away from Away at the Park
It kills me that for as crappy as attendance is, you still can't catch a break. We won a raffle for Padres tickets through military housing. When we arrived on a Monday night, our 2 year old spotted her favorite "beach" area in the bleacher section and wanted to go play. Even though our tickets were in a better section in the stadium, the bleacher gestapo wouldn't let us in. My husband even asked the few bleacher fans if anyone wanted to switch, but no luck. Ultimately my husband bought a $9 ticket. Not to sound ungratfeul but geez...really? Couldn't we just sit there? The tickets we had WERE paid for & donated to military families; it's not like Petco was giving us a free seat. And if so, who cares anyway? I thought they wanted to fill up the stadium! I guess it's just always back to MONEY. I'd like to be a loyal fan but man, that really frosted my cookies!— June 29, 2009 3:31 p.m.
