We don’t want the stinkin’ charter expansion
What about the principal who supports bullying and harrassing teachers, makes teachers sick, gives employees anxiety disorder, and causes teachers to retire early and leave the profession? Is she staying on the payroll, too? She makes Bleisch look like sweet little SpongeBob Squarepants. Do you have a student who needs disciplining? She will side with the parents and go against the teacher every time. Are your kids bullied at school? She will go against the teachers who try to discipline the bully. Nobody wants to work for this principal. NOBODY. Everyone wants OUT. School is starting...welcome to HELL.— July 19, 2014 5 p.m.
Gandara to go on 60-day lobster fast
How about you, Eastlaker? You could sit next to him. You seem to think for yourself, and it would be nice to put a face to your voice as you investigate spending of MelloRoos etc.— June 28, 2014 7:18 p.m.
Gandara to go on 60-day lobster fast
Why walk away from the table when you still have some cards in the game?— June 28, 2014 12:14 p.m.
Corruption cut from Sweetwater schools?
It's ALL about the Benjamins. You should be thankful you have such an experienced educational leader who is willing to leave his comfy affluent area to slum around down here in this rat trap endless hallway of an "office" and try and get this school district some swag. It's a long drive down here, and you don't show any gratitude. Add to that the daily complaints we get about some of these principals who were hired by Jesus and if anyone tries to demote them we got a lawsuit on our hands. This is not a fun place to be, folks.— May 2, 2014 8:45 p.m.
Standardized tests shunned by South Bay parents
One of our SUHSD band teachers got nominated for teacher if the year, and I received some letters about how she taught a few classes full of kids how to play guitar. That school should receive ten grand and another teacher to expand their program. Sadly, I also received complaints about the oppressive administration there, what is a superintendent to do? This Common Core curriculum has us by the short hairs you know.— April 12, 2014 11:09 a.m.
Standardized tests shunned by South Bay parents
Eastlaker, I would like that. You would make a challenging board member regardless of your gender. Do it for public education. And let's invite a teacher from each school to sample tamales from our annual contest, where the winning cooking class is awarded a $5,000 grant to expand the culinary arts in SUHSD! Oh .. No cooking classes? Shoot. Well let's invite all the shop teachers.. Oh there's only one left? He is retiring? Shoot. Hey but I hope you're on board with the iPads and my Hall of Fame trophy building idea....— April 11, 2014 5:28 p.m.
School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty
I have always admired George O. For his steadfast integrity, a quality I had more of when I was younger and less "jaded".— April 8, 2014 10:09 p.m.
Ed talks out of school
The headline of this article sounds like it might actually be interesting. But what a letdown. I thought this article was going to be about a great educational leader who is called on to make some tough decisions to keep his impoverished school district afloat. The picture is also uninteresting. Haven't we all seen enough of these teacher's union people? Who do these teachers think they are? This is not how you get respect, teachers. You want respect? Sorry to inform you, YOU CHOSE THE WRONG PROFESSION. Politicians , computer salespeople, student assessment Corporations, and our teams of attorneys run the big ball games here at Sweetwater. Let's work together?— March 31, 2014 10:38 a.m.
