I am a local San Diegan, with old world Kumeyaay values. I attended kindergarten at the Linda Vista Elementary School and learned to play with others, paint fabulous art pieces for my mom, and enjoy every holiday. School was new and mind expanding. I was awed by each holiday tradition, especially Valentine's Day and Halloween. I was a teacher when I learn about my local Kumeyaay Indians and I have been endeared to their traditions ever since. What a fabulous heritage we have. The ideas of taking only what we need, giving thanks for all that you have and all that is provided so generously is so satisfying. In addition, we life in a beautiful city full of sun, mountains, canyons, bays and a massive blue ocean. I am so thankful. And we still have great schools! Go San Diego, my Kumeyaay homeland!
