The NFL's Dirty Secret
Excellent story and research! It is a Holiday weekend and people are away, comments will come!— July 8, 2012 9:47 a.m.
How a Trip to Tijuana Changed My Heart
Great story about Tijuana that the average person never knows about. OK, you mention that Eunice is still married. Where is her husband and how does he fit into this scene? Keep up the great work!— November 28, 2010 1:55 p.m.
Old Spice Is New Again: Deodorants
The Vermont Country Store might be a source for Kirkman's Borax Soap. They specialize in hard-to-find items.— November 28, 2010 1:27 p.m.
El Blvd de los Muertos (The Blvd of the Dead)
Another great story. Glad it was "re-done" so it could be read. Thanks!— October 28, 2010 5:54 p.m.
Why Did 91X Fire Mookie?
Way to many "Classic Rock" stations these days. What is classic to me or you can be different. Living in the "City" in the 70's, KSAN, KFRC and even KSFO were the great stations. These days KOZT in Mendocino/Ft. Bragg has a great mix from that era.— October 28, 2010 5:44 p.m.
Remembering Mr. C.
I grew up in Coronado. One time in the early 60's I was riding my bike "uptown" near the Hotel Del. In those days you could ride on the sidewalk. Anyway, I came around the corner fast and almost ran over Spenser Tracy. William Bendix (Life of Riley) used to stroll up and down Coronado Beach plus Lloyd Bridges and Dick Van Patton used to play Tennis at the Hotel Del. During the time Regis Philbin was a Newscaster in San Diego he hosted a Fourth of July PSA Freedom Flight over the city. The flight, for charity, was a success although Regis was late. As we left the Electra aircraft, Regis handed out small flags to everyone and thanked us for taking the flight over San Diego. A memorable first flight that led to a career in the Airline Industry.— October 24, 2010 11:43 a.m.
Notes From A Second-Story Window
ALWAYS interesting stories! Thanks!— September 22, 2010 5:51 p.m.
The cheap motels on San Diego's Midway Drive, the vending machines
What a great story. I know it wasn't easy to write. Hang in there!— September 16, 2010 6:47 p.m.
"Smugglersville"
Meant to say, hope the surgery went well!— September 5, 2010 7:57 p.m.
"Smugglersville"
Great Story. Hope the surgery goes well.— September 5, 2010 7:56 p.m.
