Who Needs Grass?
Fumber is right. The Escondido City Council is Ghetto - they are like FRED WILLIAMS the largemouth BASS. The Escondido City council talks about improving the city, while they are preparing to close down the library, cut police officers, understaff firestations and cut recreation programs. The City Council is ghetto especially when they prepare to leave new fire station #6 without a fire engine (hard to fight fires without a fire engine). The Council is ghetto when they take from the people they are sworn to serve, so they can give $19.8 million dollars to an out-of-town developer to build a hotel (that will cater to out-of-town guests) - so much for serving the residents! Now, THAT'S GHETTO!!!— December 6, 2008 11:10 p.m.
Who Needs Grass?
Right On, Dorian Hargrove. It's good to know that the San Diego Reader has an eye on Escondido. You Hit the Nail on the Head! Who needs Grass? Apparantly, not the Escondido City Council or any of those "rich" enough to stay in the "luxury hotel". I use to like playing Monopoly when I was a child - unfortunately, I was naive and didn't realize that that's the game politicians play in Life.— December 1, 2008 3 p.m.
The Disbanded Duo
Comment #1 is a perfect example of the invasion of ignorance in Escondido. For some crazy reason, some people in Escondido think that Escondido is the only city in SD County (probably the entire country) that has an illegal immigration problem. For some crazy reason, these people find it necessary to exaggerate the consequences of illegal immigrants - such as the comments about free education. Obviously, the majority of Escondido's residents do not feel that is a huge problem being that the voters just approved Proposition T - the high school district bond measure. And for some crazy reason, some people feel that the blogs/comment sections on local stories is the most useful forum in which to attack the 14th Amendment of our nation's Constitution. ANYHOO...I (& many of my friends) are absolutely ECSTATIC that the "Duo" has been "Disbanded". Abed will have to find a new "buddy". The TROIKA of Waldron, Abed and Gallo is NO MORE!! Hallelujah! In two years, my friends & I will be looking to remove Waldron from her seat! Great story! Glad to know that SD Reader is keeping an eye on Escondido! Thank You!! signed, an actual resident of Escondido who knows we have not "been invaded"— November 12, 2008 4:55 p.m.
