Ready to fill with North Park foodies
Yes, it's an improvement, but that rent! Any business would probably need to net at least $12,000 a month to afford it.— February 2, 2017 4:04 p.m.
North Park stroll
Since moving to Palm Springs two years ago, I really enjoy reading articles like this about one of my favorite neighborhoods in SD. NP is so ripe for infill. I look forward to seeing the changes on my next visit. Keep the updates coming.— November 13, 2016 4:19 p.m.
Wang’s North Park restaurant space in escrow
It's unfortunate but almost inevitable that making a profit in such a large space was at best a gamble. The food was good, and the drinks and atmosphere were very nice. The menu was a bit pricey but not terribly out of line. I just don't think it appealed to the millenials that predominate in that area. There location in PS has a large, older and more affluent clientele and appears successful.— July 22, 2016 3:33 p.m.
Groundbreaking for apartments to house LGBT seniors
It definitely will be a visual improvement to the area and much needed. Although, the term "affordable" is relative to the sky high housing cost in San Diego. It's an excellent location especially for seniors with public transit, and shopping near by. Cost is my only concern about these developments.— July 14, 2016 5:54 p.m.
Move over, Bridgepoint, big dog's movin' in
Don't know what the vacancy rate looks like downtown. Maybe, this was a good idea for the building's owners. I cant imagine the Trib or tronc (what ever that means) will last as long as the lease.— July 5, 2016 9:09 p.m.
State Controller to Douglas Manchester:
It's interesting that each state has it's own rules on escheatment. I went through an attorney to collect funds in Michigan owed my mom who died last year. She had some old CDs that she had forgotten that were escheated. I didn't locate them on my own when I initially contacted the state. It didn't seem the financial institutions made much effort to locate her as she was quite scrupulous with her record keeping.— February 17, 2016 7:46 p.m.
Former diner to become beauty mall
There's a certain synergy to having like businesses under one roof. A trendy new hair venue for the local fashionistas may be just the ticket needed to make this space a success.— February 12, 2016 12:20 p.m.
Former diner to become beauty mall
Sounds like an interesting concept that might just work is trendy Hillcrest. With haircuts now around $25.00 in the area, a new stylist might be able to make a go of it. There is a certain synergy to having businesses cluster under the same roof.— February 12, 2016 12:14 p.m.
Freak flag
That's not grey hair you're seeing, it's Silver! I should know as my Silver is sprinkled with some brown hairs from decades ago..— August 12, 2015 2:16 p.m.
Will CivicSD approve Trump-like sign for old Sempra HQ?
The area would then be referred to as Greater Spanopolis.— July 31, 2015 3:28 p.m.
