Beer Touring: Groundswell Brewing Company
NIce guys there. How about a story on how certain breweries have welcomed the new growler laws even prior to the passing and how others choose to ignore them (your employer Stone for instance).— January 3, 2014 9:42 p.m.
2013’s Best New Brewing Companies
Yeah, working at Stone is a bit of a conflict would you not think? Sorry, it's just impossible to be subjective while under the thumb of that business. Not to mention there are some obvious hard hitting stories out there that are not being published by anyone. Come on SDSU interns!— January 3, 2014 9:36 p.m.
5 Cents' Worth
Your, "In the past" link actually has no "detail" that needs to be rehashed for fear of crushing someones feelings. This really is not a sad chapter in "San Diego Beer". The separation will not stop the great beer to be continued to be brewed. How hard is it to compete in a town with no other competition you ask? Not too hard actually. There really is no need to compete for good beer up there. It's all available by kegs delivered just like everywhere else in San Diego. If Julian Beer has some decent offerings great, I'm sure it will. It's only 45 minutes away from the highway of great brews in miramar/mira mesa anyway. Story for this place is how the service and food compare. Ask the OB Pizza Port about that.— January 3, 2014 9:17 p.m.
Brewhaha Fallout for Julian's Bailey BBQ
Actually, you speculated on whether the entire establishment would survive. With respect to all brewers here in SD, a bit of experience can yield great brew especially with all the available hops now. The food and service will be what makes the place. They can buy kegs of kind beer from any number of places and kill it as long as the service and food is good. That is the real story here. Mike is a good choice to run the joint in my opinion.— January 3, 2014 9:08 p.m.
