Escondido woman arrested again
Damn, Eva! There must be something I'm missing here. Is the Reader really doing an entire story about a shoplifter? A single shoplifter? Will there be a story about that homeless guy who parked his shopping cart in the same corner after being told to not park there? Or an article about a minivan driving lady who was pulled over three times for a broken taillight? How about a broadside about that large dog turd near the neighborhood Jack in the Box that no one has claimed? I could see this story being important enough to merit an internal memo from one Walmart to another, maybe even to corporate Walmart...but here?— November 27, 2012 6:16 p.m.
New Chula Vista Comedy Club, Strip Club, What’s the Diff?
Maybe all the strippers are funny looking?— October 15, 2012 11:20 a.m.
Tijuana Sewage Spill Didn’t Reach Imperial Beach
How about some news about Imperial Beach that doesn't include the words, "sewage spill" just once for a change?— September 20, 2012 12:40 p.m.
Circus Protest on Sports Arena Boulevard

Cinépolis is the New Theater in Town...Prepare to Recline!
Been going to the one in Tijuana for a while now, and yes, once you go to one of these theaters, you'll never go back to making line for popcorn ever again.— July 9, 2012 9:13 a.m.

Toxic Dirt Trucked to Southwest High School?
Southland Paving does big projects for the local governments (they just finished the 43rd and Logan intersection). A reporter could go to the City of San Diego and ask for the contracts dating to that time, and then do the same for National City, Chula Vista and Imperial Beach. The answer is probably there. And as far as the soil being clean or contaminated, construction sites may have contaminated soils right next to/on top of clean soils. The distinction can be hazy on a job site. So while it is doubtful, SP could have been informed by their inspectors, that the soil was clean-enough, when it wasn't. This could be much more complicated than it seems, but in the end, no potentially borderline clean soils shoild have gotten on school property.— July 3, 2012 10:48 a.m.
Imperial Beach City Council Forced to Address Pot Dispensary Ban
IB should just let them do it, ultimately, the feds will show up and stop everything, which I guess is what happened to the places just outside IB on Palm Avenue.— June 25, 2012 3:04 p.m.
Mt. Soledad Cross Case Not Supreme Court's Cross To Bear
I am looking forward to the two sides, one smug, and the other feeling justice wasn't served, and I *almost* don't care which side wins. But if it ends up getting taken down, I feel sorry for the blameless backhoe operator who's face will be famous as he knocks it down.— June 25, 2012 2:58 p.m.
Imperial Beach gets aggressive on code violators
Thia story could really use an update. When asking the city how they protect resident's privacy, the answer was referring to the case (we cant answer that, ongoing case etc.), but what is their policy in regard to everybody else, who isnt in a court case? That question wasn't answered, and really deseeved an answer. I have never crossed paths with that code compliance officer, but he is famous among residents. So how about an update?— June 25, 2012 9:34 a.m.
