People-Watching
Long have I been a reader of the inexplicable scribbling of TGIF… I look forward to it every week, the way some anticipate the bullfights, or professional wrestling, or the hot and fragile blowing of a molten glass sculpture that can shatter instantly or stand as an indelible monument of incandescent beauty! There is just something about it – perhaps it is the slow motion train wreck quality that we cannot look away from… Or perhaps it is that certain indescribable ache of regret, of dreams and years lost that can never be recaptured… What ever it is, Brizzolara captures it in its raw, bloody, stark humanity! Frankly, it surprises me that a local rag would even publish such true yet unglamorous depictions of the modern human experience. Bless you!— February 20, 2009 9:22 p.m.
Undiagnosed
Welcome the American medical scam… I mean system… I’m sorry we don’t know what’s wrong with you because we really don’t know anything about the balance of the human body. Instead we will subject you to bunch of tests: CHA-CHING! “What was that sound?” Oh, nothing you need to be concerned about. Oh, wait, we still can’t figure out what’s wrong with you, here are some more test you need to take: CHA-CHA-CHING!!! “What was that sound?” What sound? I didn’t hear anything… Ah, your test results are back, there is nothing wrong with you. “But why do I still hurt?” It’s all in your head. Will you be paying by check or credit card?— February 11, 2009 5:14 p.m.
Do Right
Oh, dear! Strange how when it comes to dealing with death there are all kinds of weird rituals that we are expected to observe, most of them being trite and pointless, yet whoa-be-it if you happen to disregard any of them! On another note, why is it that most sisters everywhere suck? :/— February 9, 2009 8:42 p.m.
Rite of Passage
As a long-time Diva reader, I must say, at first I was skeptical of David. The whole leaf in a box thing just seemed too good to be true… Yet, time after time David has demonstrated the quality of his character. So, just let me say this – if you ever take that boy for granted, someone needs to smack you upside the head – not once, not twice, but three times!!! David is surely a rare treasure the likes of which I will probably never see. So… you need to pull your bootie out of the dumps and cherish that boy!— December 15, 2008 9:21 p.m.
