Faulconer names SD's first female police chief
It appears to be the most intelligent choice. I found it amusing that KPBS reported that the "I"-mayor, who had been calling for a nationwide search, was caught off guard by the decision.— February 26, 2014 11:18 p.m.
Why not drink more bitters?
In Argentina they drink Fernet & Coke by the gallons!— September 13, 2013 9:15 p.m.
Combined convention center/stadium? Or neither?
There is a huge development going in along Friars Rd between Mission Center Rd and the 805. Every day I wonder how in the heck they expect to move all the new traffic that will create to get in and out of the Valley. The south end near I-8 is massively congested every day. It's only going to get worse. Mission Valley gridlock critical mass is the new reality.— September 6, 2013 6:44 p.m.
Todd Gloria wields the ax, firing most of Filner staff
Gloria didn't waste any time getting his mug on every TV newscast today "touring" the city. Looks like he's getting a head start on campaigning for mayor, even before he makes an official announcement.— September 2, 2013 8:36 p.m.
Did interim mayor Todd Gloria have the authority to rescind stop-use order for Jack in the Box?

Are you happy with Filner's resignation?

Aguirre wants secure water supply, lower electric rates, infrastructure upgrade
Yes, skilled laborers will benefit temporarily while they pay with their blood, sweat, and lives, while a good portion of the money leaves the state to feed the national chapters. And once completed, locals can line up to man the coffee carts, check badges and vacuum for barely livable wages.— September 2, 2013 11:03 a.m.
Did interim mayor Todd Gloria have the authority to rescind stop-use order for Jack in the Box?
Toad Gloria is clearly a reptile. He quickly changes color as the situation changes for his own personal gain. He tirelessly and relentlessly canvassed the streets of N. Park and Gay bars in Hillcrest making promises the first time he was elected, and in is reelection ran unopposed. The drive-thru issue predates Bob Filner's election http://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2012/feb/01/ci…, and I don't once see that Toad ever took any interest in the issue, I guess he was too busy cutting ribbons for bike racks in Hillcrest. This guy really turns my stomach. Every time he's interviewed he just spews platitudes and rehearsed talking points. Give me a break!— September 1, 2013 11:42 a.m.
Aguirre wants secure water supply, lower electric rates, infrastructure upgrade
I really do home Mike Aguirre throws his hat into the ring. It's very disappointing that so far most of the potential candidates will return the city to business as usual of screwing taxpayers. I find it curious that most reports dance around the topic of the Glorious Todd announcing his candidacy. In his Q&A with the UT he already mentioned that one of his goals is to get this convention center expansion rolling. The voters of this city really need to wake the hell up.— August 31, 2013 4:41 p.m.
Nathan Fletcher files for mayor of San Diego
I think almost everyone on the City Council has benefited from Jacob's generosity. If anyone has paid any attention to Todd Gloria's latest press release in the last couple of weeks patting himself on the back for getting free wifi access in Balboa Park. Who do you think is behind that? http://www.balboapark.org/bpoc/blog/balboa-park-w… The Balboa Park WiFi project is possible because of the generous support of our donors: Joan and Irwin Jacobs Legler Benbough Foundation Office of Councilmember Todd Gloria, City of San Diego, Third District County of San Diego, Neighborhood Reinvestment Program Cox Communications Ruckus Wireless— August 23, 2013 8:22 p.m.
