San Diego's best hip-hop
As an avid hip hop fan (and equally avid DJ...approximately the same age as the ones being featured), I was happily surprised to walk into my room at the the good ol' Courtyard in Kearny Mesa and see an interesting article in the SD Reader calling my attention. My enthusiasm was quickly dashed, however, as the auteur soon took a wanderlust, meandering spin. There was little to no cohesion in the "story", and the article amounted to a series of disjointed quotes and experiences. Ultimately, I learned VERY little about the four featured DJ's: it was basically an 8th-grade composition about "how I spent my Summer". Note to author: don't bite off more than you can chew in the future. This article had tremendous potential, and you blew it!— August 27, 2010 6:36 a.m.
