Asian Households Had Highest Median Incomes in County in 2007, Census Data Show
From what I have read the brain is amazingly plastic. Nurture or its absence is key.— August 27, 2008 10:57 a.m.
Asian Households Had Highest Median Incomes in County in 2007, Census Data Show
Oops: "family and community committment to education."— August 27, 2008 7:08 a.m.
Asian Households Had Highest Median Incomes in County in 2007, Census Data Show
Asia is too diverse to simply say Asian. If someone calls my wife Asian, she specifies "South Asian." I personally believe what counts is family and community to education.— August 27, 2008 7:05 a.m.
Canadian Newspaper Company Looking at Union-Tribune; Would Take Advantage of Strong "Loonie"
The last time I looked, the Orange County Register requires payment to view articles. Does anyone know how much this is and if they do well against other SoCal ad-supported web news?— August 24, 2008 7:16 p.m.
State Lands Commission Approves Lease of State Property for Poseidon's Carlsbad Desalination Plant
Poseidon built a desal plant for Tampa, Florida, located near a power plant. With the cost higher per gallon than pumping wells, I bet they get all they can from nonsaline sources. Also, I believe the plant was years late, due to problems uncovered after construction started. Full potable recycling of water is likely cheaper than desal. If Orange County and LA can get over the yuck factor, so should San Diego.— August 23, 2008 1:38 p.m.
The Dark Knight clocks in
So, mike1, you didn't see that one-star "loser," "The Empire Strikes Back?"— August 12, 2008 12:51 p.m.
San Diego Is Chargers' Problem
"San Diegans, including most companies, live on psychic income." "San Diegans are paid [partly] in sunshine" is a phrase I remember from my childhood in Poway, in the 1970s.— August 6, 2008 7:29 p.m.
Sempra spins Sunrise Powerlink in the Union-Tribune
Trestles, remember LADWP, much closer to home.— August 6, 2008 2:44 p.m.
How much do you think the Union-Tribune will sell for?
If the LA Times or OC Register are smart, they will put out competetive San Diego County editions and buy the UT's news talent. That is more-or-less what happened in Citizen Kane, yes? :)— August 6, 2008 8:42 a.m.
Sempra spins Sunrise Powerlink in the Union-Tribune
Don, I seem to remember there already is a diversion tunnel that takes Colorado River water east of the Front Range. It's called Big Thompson Project.— August 1, 2008 8:49 a.m.
