Alleged sexual assault at Lincoln High School leads to teacher's suicide
This is such a tragic situation for so many reasons. I cannot for the life of me understand how Lincoln High, SDUSD and the police mishandled the rape of a student like they did. As a mother, I don't know what I would do... not only finding out my child was raped, but then to discover it was hidden from me by the school. Our schools are the place where we send our precious children to every day, trusting they will be nurtured and protected. I would only hope the standard of care would be elevated for children with special needs. It seems like Nathan Page was the kind of teacher we all hope to have in our childrens' lives and it is absolutely heartbreaking that dealing with such callouness and incompetence caused him to feel the pressure to take his own life. Such an incredible waste and huge loss for his family, friends and the children he cared for. Huge changes need to be made at this school immediately!— April 2, 2018 11:28 a.m.
