Javier Lugo
Javier Lugo Jr. was born on April 25, 1965 in San Diego, California. Growing up listening to his sisters 45 rpm records throughout the house, he was inspired to purchase his first dance record in 1979, Anita Ward’s “Ring my Bell.” That same year, he began to DJ with the goal of being able to put himself through college. His dream was to get into the music business. After graduating from San Diego High School in 1983, he subsequently attended Southwestern College. After his first semester, he was offered a full time job at Honeywell, working with electronics. Balancing work and school, Javier would finish his A.S. in Digital Electronics. He would ultimately go on to open a record pool, International Record Source, in 1987, which serviced records to influential DJs in Southern California and Mexico.
Seeking diversification, International Record Source in the early 1990’s started promoting concerts. This led to the creation of his DJ agency, ONEWORLD. Javier worked with various Grammy nominated remixers and producers including, but not limited to: Richard “Humpty” Vission, Andres Migangos, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Irene to mention a few. He also worked with internationally renowned artists such as, Madonna, Luis Miguel, Enrique Iglesias, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, and Gloria Estefan.
Following the births of his kids, Jessica and Javier, he localized his business and started promoting clubs in San Diego and Tijuana. In 2003, he started a catering company, Gran Sol Catering. He ultimately closed his agency in 2008 to focus on local nightlife and his catering service.
Finding success throughout San Diego, Javier began to incorporate coordinating private events and parties, created ONEWORLDevents in 2011. Since, he has been coordinating Weddings, Quinceañeras, sweet 16’s, Private Dinners, Company Functions… Wanting to work with local groups, some of his larger events have included working with SDPD's Crime Stopper’s “Light the Night,” Sweetwater Union High School District banquet and athletic events, events with the San Diego Port Authority and SDG&E to mention a few.
