We already drink toilet-to-tap water

I was amazed recently to read the County Water Authority dumped a half billion gallons of treated water into the Lower Otay Reservoir, including some very expensive desalinated water. The explanation was the Metropolitan Water District is sending us too much water and has been asked to stop doing so. How is it we can be going through a drought, with the public being asked to conserve water, and yet a half billion gallons get dumped, and will require re-treatment before it can be consumed? Gaslamp 15, we hardly knew ye

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was to hear the news about this theater closing. I was just there last week. I'm really getting concerned that SD is going to go backwards and become the cultural wasteland that my friends in LA say it is. I thought parking at Horton was easy breezy. Just remember your apples and oranges or whatever. I say Netflix, Schmetflix! We need more large screens in this town. The Gym is okay, but I wish the crew would stop running in and out the door, which is right next to the screen.

Tecolote Canyon is crappy

People need to understand, losing an occasional pedestrian or cyclist is nothing compared to the thousands of people who will be enjoying themselves at a new stadium. A city has to set its priorities and our mayor has been doing a wonderful job. Infrastructure will always be a problem, but you only get one or two opportunities in your lifetime to have a great football stadium. Vote Keven Falconer!

The high cost and value of sewage

What's also insane is how we let millions of gallons of fresh water run into the ocean during and after rain storms. I hear someone is promoting collection tanks for individual homes. I don't see why the county doesn't install huge collection tanks and take advantage of the free water. Also, if we get the heavy rains Uncle Nino is supposed to dump on us, we can expect a lot more underground erosion, cave-ins, and related mayhem.

Dirt flies at Bikeway Village

I'm not a big fan of the County Supervisor but I have to give Cox credit for showing some vision and imagination with his idea for a tube crossing to Coronado. I think it would be terrific. Of course, it is much too advanced, too forward-thinking for sleepy ol' Sandy Eggo. All we know how to build are blacktop highways and facilities for men to play ball games in.

Badcyc...They deepened it by digging the canyon deeper to put in Hwy 15; and they buried it when they laid down the highway. Welcome Hwy 15! RIP Wards Canyon. I agree with you, Caroline-- a farmers market would be great in that location. I hope someone can make it happen.
