Manchester’s mystery money and Tom Barrack
Will look forward to seeing Thomas J. Barrack, Jr in trials when Mueller comes out with his report. Birds of a feather indeed.— December 20, 2018 7:41 p.m.
Who gave money to San Diego politicians
Most of the time it's true that people give with expectation. Once in a while a candidate come along and it becomes a joy to celebrate their candidacy...such is the case of Omar Passons. He ran a campaign of integrity and vision. It was an honor to support his effort to represent the people of District 4 in the county.— June 19, 2018 7:38 a.m.
Fletcher couple rumbles over spousal support
Exactly why I am supporting Omar Passons.— May 21, 2018 7:26 a.m.
Out-of-town money cascades into supervisor race
Just opened up my mailbox, I live in a condo and WOW! Seriously, this mail is unbelievable. All funded by special interests going after one another. I am all in with Omar Passons and anyone living in D4 Sups seat needs to be paying close attention to this race. Omar Passons middle name is "integrity" and it's an honor to support him. OMAR PASSONS!— May 18, 2018 10:06 a.m.

Nathan's spousal support
Hypocrisy From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Hypocrisy is the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations, especially with respect to religious and moral beliefs; hence in a general sense, hypocrisy may involve dissimulation, pretense, or a sham. Hypocrisy is the practice of engaging in the same behavior or activity for which one criticizes another. In moral psychology, it is the failure to follow one's own expressed moral rules and principles. According to British political philosopher David Runciman, "Other kinds of hypocritical deception include claims to knowledge that one lacks, claims to a consistency that one cannot sustain, claims to a loyalty that one does not possess, claims to an identity that one does not hold". American political journalist Michael Gerson says that political hypocrisy is "the conscious use of a mask to fool the public and gain political benefit" http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2018/m…— May 10, 2018 12:59 p.m.
Oily money
Hypocrisy is the original political sin. How can an elected official tout their environmental credentials, legislation and support from Sierra Club and turn around taking $50,000 from those who want to sink 141 oil wells on a previously moribund field near Santa Maria. There is one offense for which there is no pardon - preaching one thing at the public while practicing another. Incompetence, duplicity, arrogance – each one hurts. Hypocrisy kills.— December 7, 2017 10:54 a.m.
SDG&E and AT&T’s turkey times
It all makes me sad monaghan. San Diego County really needs institutional changes to move the region economically and socially forward. We need someone who genuinely cares about why and how to implement these kind of serious and necessary changes. I am worried that the anointment of "passive-ideology free" Nathan Fletcher, by the local democratic party, was done to keep his wife quiet (this is what the word is in the trenches) rather than flip flopper Mr. Fletcher's commitment to a real progressive agenda. Scary indeed.— November 29, 2017 5:15 p.m.
SDG&E and AT&T’s turkey times
So how does it really work in the local democratic party? Amazing that local 2 time loser candidate Nathan Fletcher, who use to be a conservative republician, then inept independent and now a "progressive democrat" picks up $25,950 in one day from local party, practically 8 months before primarty election, while the other 3 democrats 2 Africian Americian men and 1 woman, plug away at their fundraising efforts. Will Nathan's wife, Chairwoman of the California Appropriations Committee "behest" her Assembly campaign war chest to the local party, which can then earmark for "Fletcher communications" and then funnel directly into Mr. Fletcher's campaign coffers? In other words, can she collect corporate dollars at $5,000 a pop from SDG&E, SEMPRA, QUALCOMM, AT&T and others for herself, which ultimately ends up as money to her husband, while other supervisorial candidates can only collect personal checks? It's certainly the opinion of those in republician and democratic circles, without the help of the powerful, effective, and smart Assemblywoman, Nathan Fletcher wouldn't have received the democratic party's endorsement nor their monies! Endorsing Fletcher wayyyy early in September, 9 months before the election, was a give away that Gonzalez-Fletcher has big influence over the meek local Democratic Chairwoman Jessica Hayes. They did everything they could to get the endorsement for Fletcher except roll out a red carpet.— November 25, 2017 11:14 a.m.
State wants $2615 from Barry Minkow
Barry Minkow should never ever be allowed out of jail. My late brother, diagnosed schizophrenic, joined his "church" a "Jews for Jesus" (we are a Jewish family) place of worship in the late 1990's through to his death June 2008. Minkow took advantage of my mentally ill brother until my bro died in a car crash...and even at the funeral he was soliciting funds from our family. Thank goodness my brother is not here to see what a POC this con is and how all his friends were taken. Shame on him for all the beautiful heartfelt people he bilked out of millions. Any money made should be restitution to the good people who he screwed.— September 6, 2017 4:25 p.m.
