Judge to Goldsmith: Turn 'em over
Don't worry, Goldy. Briggs will find the $$ to pay for the pages, for sure. But it's a great idea to check the content first: I got a pile of FOIA pages from Goldy's allies once, and there were many blank pages and pages of publicly available junk irrelevant to what I requested. In short, they stiffed me, cheated me, and probably had a good laugh. But I'm just a little powerless citizen. Briggs will fry your a$$, Goldy. And I'll be rooting for him. to do it— October 9, 2014 7:53 p.m.
Papa’s peculiar predicament
The Manchester plan and his spokesmen are laugh-out-loud material. Yeah, nice place to walk! To lots of places. Traffic, no prob. Conflict of interest, not us! Please, please, Manchester, leave San Diego and go to Texas permanently. That's where you belong. Good reporting.— October 9, 2014 7:48 p.m.
Who will rule Mayor Faulconer?
VoSD published an article co-authored by downtown's wunderkind Kris Michell on 9/22/2014. How nice that the VoSD provides a voice for those in their circle.— September 26, 2014 4:43 p.m.
Who will rule Mayor Faulconer?
"Price fund announced that it was also financing the Voice of San Diego in a deal with San Diego State. 'A two year matching grant will support the hiring of an investigative reporter focusing on land use issues in San Diego'. " *Land use*. How predictable. Because what other concerns could there be for the real estate development donors?— September 22, 2014 5:32 p.m.
The selfie way of life
OK. Thanks.— September 17, 2014 3:53 p.m.
The selfie way of life
Two things - First: the idea of there even being a PBS Idea Channel is hysterical. I haven't seen a cogent idea on our local PBS for decades. There is a fantastic article in the Oct 2014 issue of Harper's Magazine ("PBS Self-Destructs). Must read. Second: I recently read or watched a smirking take-down about how TV media desk-jockeys are referring to photos that they show as "selfies" when they are NOT selfies. I had noticed that, and you can understand the desperation of TV media folks, trying to be hip, wanting to capture an audience of the (dumb) hip, and not knowing/caring that the whole selfie thing is/was idiotic and over, over, over.— September 17, 2014 10:27 a.m.
City attorney Goldsmith: "I apologize"
"whoever the miscommunication was"... **You** are the miscommunication, Goldsmith. Case in point, "but you have got to have somebody, **a lawyer,** **a lawyer** ..." YEP. We pay you a lot to be the top city lawyer, yet neither you nor your own hirelings can handle even the simplest legal issue. Inept. In over your head. Incoherent. Dishonest.— September 16, 2014 7:46 p.m.
Closed for legislation
So glad you reminded me of this.— September 12, 2014 1:25 p.m.
Hidden agenda in Hillcrest?
It makes sense that most PO box owners live nearby. Not having a storefront, either through building ownership or via rental, doesn't mean a business owner doesn't have a stake in a community. Payment of full fees to a BID should confer full member rights.— September 9, 2014 6:01 p.m.
Hidden agenda in Hillcrest?
It's clear that Nicholls feels that **he**, not the Board or the Board president, has the final word: "Nicholls says, 'These revisions ensure that people from outside Hillcrest can't take over ... **I** wouldn't prohibit them from being a member or voting in the elections ... .'" He is always the underlying problem.— September 9, 2014 11:10 a.m.
