Tech-Site Says HP Is Shutting Down San Diego Software Unit. HP Says It's Not Accurate
Dorian, here is the total truth. The people that were let go were the good people that came to HP via the acquisition that happened back in late 2005. Those let go (a very talent group) had been neglected and underesourced by HP for at least 3 years. The comment given by your HP source that there was a severance package provided was an overstatement. Suffice to say it was roughly compensation for each year of service at HP (with no factoring in that many of those people had been at Peregrine for 5-10 years prior to the acquisition. I am not a part of the group let go, nor do I work at HP. I do know that team well however and they are hugely talented. All I can say is HP's loss and I sincerely hope that some worthy competitor will pick up that members of that team asap. Hint, hint ServiceNow.— October 13, 2011 2:55 p.m.
