I don't know where you got the 24 million gallon per day figure, but the city's website says the North City Water Reclamation Plant can produce up to 30 MGD (http://www.sandiego.gov/mwwd/facilities/northcity…). Personally, I'd like to see lots of that unused capacity go towards the Indirect Potable Reuse Project (http://www.sandiego.gov/water/waterreusestudy/wat…), which could convert up to 16 MGD of North City's reclaimed water into potable water if the demonstration project were to be successful and ultimately approved for production mode.— June 26, 2010 11:31 a.m.
