Why Californians Should Say NO to Any Tax Hikes
Congrats on your first place win! Very informative article. I have lived here for nearly twenty years now. I may be slow, but in addition to voting "no" on tax increases, I no longer sign those petitions to get propositions on the ballot. They are backed by big business, benefit no one and whether or not it passes, someone files a lawsuit that goes to court at tax payer expense to overturn it. Families and children and schools are only wheeled out each election cycle in the name of raising money but when there is a budget deficit, these are the first programs to be cut because these "lazy" people drain our system. Meanwhile, billionaire sports stadium owners are getting profit making stadiums built under the the threat of "leaving the city." Simply put a measure on the ballot saying it is your stadium Mr. Taxpayer. Before it is built anyway. Then when the money comes in, it is theirs. I call Wal-Mart Law-Mart, because whatever they say, goes. Thanks for your article!— May 5, 2012 10:55 p.m.
