My Ask of Jane
Katie M. says: I think "circle back" is the term used for closing the human centipede.— January 30, 2012 12:39 p.m.
My Ask of Jane
Lorie G. says: Hilarious!! My husband and I met in Corporate America and still remember the day we were at a meeting and some khaki-panted jerk-face used the phrase "thinking in 'real time'". We both were trying not to laugh, and still use it as a joke!— January 30, 2012 12:39 p.m.
Lunch at Bangkok West
Kim F. says: This is one of my favorite places. If you are heading there for lunch, go early. They get packed around noon.— January 16, 2012 4:06 p.m.
Lunch at Bangkok West
Laura D. says: I LOVE Bangkok West. They can really do spicy if you ask for it...really spicy!— January 16, 2012 4:05 p.m.
Watch Your Step in City Heights
Alison W. says: If, in the course of your research, you uncover those we need to write to (faxing is great too, because it's hard to ignore a PILE.. Ha, go figure), let us know and we'll step up our efforts. I have a big dog. I clean up after her. A small dog's "little or cute" poop is still poop-stop being lazy, people!— December 19, 2011 1:34 p.m.
Mary Birch does not deny that its C-section rate is high
Elizabeth M. says: There is an epidemic of c-sections in this county. We are the only country in the world that treats pregnancy and birth like it's a disease or medical condition. I will be having my baby at the UCSD birth center with a midwife and doula. No drugs, no drama, just going to let my body do what it already knows how to. Women have been giving birth for 50,000 years without medical intervention.— December 19, 2011 10:49 a.m.
Mary Birch does not deny that its C-section rate is high
Jessica W. says: I used to work at S.M.B. as one of the newborn baby photographers. We always had a list of normal births and C Section births to work from and I was always appalled at the number of C Sections. I found it to be 40% to 50% C Section. Totally not necessary putting lives at risk just to rake in more money. I am glad to see that someone is speaking up on this issue.— December 19, 2011 10:48 a.m.
Mary Birch does not deny that its C-section rate is high
Chy Z. says: I had my daughter at Mary Birch and yes I did have a c-section. But I was there over 24 hours before it was even suggested. No one there ever persuaded or led me to make a decision to have the c-section. It was actually quite the opposite. My Dr had always told me natural birth is the goal. Even when I had said I was not really looking forward to a natural delivery. The reason that the c-section was necessary was because my baby was trying to push through and I couldn't dilate enough to let her pass through. This decision was made late at night after we had waited almost 30 hours for it to happen naturally and only when it became a safety issue for my baby.— December 14, 2011 9:07 p.m.
Beer and Candy Canes Link Up
Michelle N. says: Sounds fun! While "Beer and Candy Canes" is a cute theme, the thought of consuming them together...not yum.— December 14, 2011 2:42 p.m.
In the Doghouse
Shawn S. says: It's a tough decision amongst couples, but Deena's right. Having a big, dopey dog greet you when you get home is hard to resist. BTW, kudos to whomever crafted this article's picture of the two dogs trying to see eye-to-eye.— December 7, 2011 3:33 p.m.
