Where Chia Pets Came From
Hi Matt, I just read your piece about Chia seeds. Some of us prefer to use Chia seeds which have been milled (ground). One good example of this is Running Food, which sells micro-milled Chia on its website. Using the milled chia in smoothies makes it thick but not as much as the full seeds, and you don't need a toothpick afterwards. Milled chia can also be added into just about any other food with little or not taste change. There are also many recipes on the internet for a chia pudding, used by soaking some seeds in almond milk or coconut water, then some people add cocoa or agave for more sweetness. Just do a quick search and you'll find plenty of recipes. Take care and Happy Holidays, ChiaMom— December 28, 2011 11:08 a.m.
