I was born an artist, in Newark, NJ. I attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, majoring in Fine Art at the Mason Gross School of Art, but left to pursue fashion design, and received my certificate of Fashion Design and Garment construction at Fashion Design Training Studio in Newark, NJ. I studied CAD for Fashion at Xincon Technology School in NYC.

I moved to San Diego 8 years ago, started out in Pacific Beach, then moved to Mission Beach, and finally settled down in Ocean Beach, where I feel very much at home. I truly love nature, and am obsessed with the sky, and try to photograph the sunset daily to share it with my social media followers, in case they couldn't see it, and it is my favorite subject to paint.

I became a full time retail merchandiser and Store manager at the age of 20, and ran stores and led new store openings for several companies such as Bang Bang, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and Ann Taylor Loft. I am also an Independent Beauty consultant and makeup artist for Mary Kay, and have my own Mary Kay website, www.MaryKay.com/BernadetteSunset. I started my own company, Bernadette Sunset LLC and am currently developing my website/blog, www.BernadetteSunset.com
