And if your answer is it wasn't meant for humans inhabiting it, how did we ever get here? To further that question some, if we evolved from monkeys, that makes us animals and, well, what does it matter how we transport ourselves around town? I don't know what to think of this entire thing. It looks like both Tom and Michael were at times in the right and at times in the wrong. And also that I don't think there is and ever could be a resolution, and that is unfortunate because that means I wasted a lot of time looking into this and I hate unresolved things... haha.

Wait... the black guy was in his 50s?! No way. The other guy, Tom, was 67 years old from the reports I've been reading but the guy who got the beat-down had to have been younger than his 50s. I'll have to keep doing more research on this. Plus, this isn't the only video Tom has appeared in. Check <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXkwa9uFBss">this</a> out. And you know what, Pete? I have no problem with you not agreeing. In fact, it's really what I've come to accept as PistolPete. Not someone disagreeable but someone who stands for his opinions whether I agree with them or not (and honestly, it's a lot of the latter... ha). But I think sometimes disagreeing can lead to some great discourse, so long as that discourse can leave vitriolic, hateful language out of the equation. Something will always be learned from it, whether it's a lesson or simply that we just disagree and can be adults and leave it at that. Anyway. Even after my brief hiatus, it's good to see things haven't changed too much... ha.

First of all, I don't think that kid deserves to be called any racial slur simply because of his skin but that punk definitely got what was coming, black or white. Hell, if he was some 90 year old grandma who was mouthing off and got a beat down like he did, I'd still say she deserved. Human is human but a**holes deserve to have their nature pointed out to them in whatever way necessary to show them just how much their behavior will no longer be tolerated. Unfortunately, this world has become overly gentrified and afraid to speak its mind. Again, this can be done without any racial intonations but at some point, we have to say enough is enough. On the other hand, where do we draw the line with that? I mean, opinions are opinions so everyone will never all agree. So at that point, what next? What exacerbates the problem is that as more and more humans inhabit this world in a freakishly rapid rate, more and more problems of this nature will arise (which is kind of a random justification but, well, yeah). I know, I just contradicted myself in one comment. Don't applaud, just throw money. But maybe that's the point. Nothing will ever be even but at some point maybe a balance can be found or a realization that walking away just might be the best option available. This contradictory bleeding-heart liberal who no longer cares what people think was brought to you by the number 8 and the letter T.

Tundra # 6

I have to admit, I'm finding this hard to read. Not because of the storytelling, which is fine in itself, but simply because of what you are putting your cat Tundra through. I want to point out one thing that I find cruel, if not downright despicable, that you had said in another post: "Sometimes I threw Tundra out in the yard and shut the door. I felt that it was for his own good. Almost immediately he’d begin to scratch at the door and meow mournfully. “Merrrrooooooow!” he’d cry." Have you no heart? Actually, don't even answer that. The mere fact that you continue to allow your cat to get its ass kicked and are content with that is proof enough that you don't. Look, Tundra is your cat and I'd be out of place to even attempt to dare say how you or any other pet owner raises their pet but personally, I find this entire thing to be absolutely cruel. I understand Tundra scratches at the door to be let out but I'd bet anything that it's not to go outside and be attacked by another bully of a cat but simply because cats by nature are enthralled with nature itself. In a previous thread in the first fight, Tundra ran directly past you, upstairs and under furniture to not only hide but lick its wounds. If that doesn't show you that it's not out there to fight but to get some enjoyment of being outside, you obviously have no respect or understanding of cats. There is nothing you can do about Mushroom coming into your yard, which was proven by a water gun that will eventually no longer be considered a nuisance to Mushroom but merely a new way of getting something to drink. You simply cannot dissuade a cat with a water gun. They eventually will conquer their fear of that and no longer be bothered by it. So please, stop torturing Mushroom with the water gun and have some damn respect for your own cat. When it wants out, find something to distract it and maybe play with it yourself. I understand this cat was thrust into your lives by another disrespectful owner who deserted it but no need to make it two owners who show it no love. You say Tundra grew on you but your actions belie that sentiment. Furthermore, I'm disappointed by all of you others replying, goading on and encouraging this. Stop for a second and think about what is going on and what poor Tundra is going through. It is not a "growing" period for Tundra. It must be pure confusion as to why being outside is so enjoyable but gets absolutely ruined by a bully of a cat. I feel terrible for Tundra, actually. I can't even imagine how it feels inside and I only hope either Mushroom goes away or its owners find more respect for its feelings and life itself.

Old Man Kinda-Winter, Go Away Already

RE:#2- Pete, I totally agree. I spent so much time driving in blizzards and hurricanes that the drivers out here frustrate me. However, I will say that when it rains out here, the roads are terrible because they don't really have any bad weather to weatherize them over time. It makes for very slick roads. But still, stop driving like Grandma and just freakin' drive. RE:#5- CF, I didn't realize what was going on until I went out for a smoke. It was late and I wasn't sure if the moving car was just because I was tired so what did I do? I walked right up to the car windows. That's when I realized the reality of the situation and went back inside. I was too shocked for some reason, though I have decided to blame it on the lack of action both inside my own apartment and the weather outside of it, so I didn't even think about doing an iReport. Next time, next time....

Re: #10- Yes, Pike and another co-hort definitely had Small Bar rockin' out to some Queen, though in retrospect, it could have easily been We Are the Champions. It was late when it all went down (though isn't that usually the case?) so my memory of that evening is slightly hazy. The goal was to find a song that would unite an entire bar of strangers, and the one thing I remember about that night is that it clearly did. I think Queen just has that strange, ethereal effect on people whether you know the drunk frat boy sitting next to you or the hot female at the other end of the bar is your best friend. Either way, good times were in abundance that evening just as it appears it was for you at Santana's.
