Cafe Paris in East Village - too good to last

“Californians drink wine by itself, like a cocktail. In France, we drink it always with food.”

I found this gem when I was walking to Dirty Dels to get a sandwich and dels had a sign posted they were not accepting credit cards...sooo I kept walking. I had never noticed the quaint little restaurant before and decided to take a look at the menu posted in the window...FABULOUS! I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for a decent, fun, relaxed and great atmospheric resaturant with FRENCH CUISINE!! This is my all time favorite new spot! The food is really fresh and the owner is very friendly, which you don't get a lot with downtown restaurants. I have to say - it is a breath of fresh air that this is such a beautiful place with such amazing prices for the quality of food you get compared to my other favorite - Toast - right down the street. The food is excellet, but WAY over priced - they charge you for bread...yes...bread and butter is $5.75 for a teeny little loaf! Plus the owner is NOT friendly and nickel and dimes his best customers. THANK YOU for openning this Gem!! GO TO Paris!
