Guided Low Tide Geology Walk

Enjoy a docent-led walk exploring the geology of Torrey Pines.

All of the rock layers in the Torrey Pines park area are sedimentary in origin, made up of fragments of older rocks. The sedimentary layers exposed in the seacliffs and throughout the reserve are divided into named rock formations. 1,500 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed— the maritime chaparral, the rare Torrey pine, beaches, and a lagoon. Enjoy a public low tide geology walk led by docent Norrie Robbins. This event is free and good for all ages. Meet at the south beach parking lot.

When: Saturday, September 18, 3 pm to 4:30 pm

Where: Torrey Pines State Beach and Reserve, 12600 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla. torreypine.org
