La Jolla Community Center presents The Blues: 100 Years of Perseverance and Creativity. Learn about how this music was designed to lift your spirits when things are not perfect. The presentation includes the “Empress of the Blues” Bessie Smith, one of the best-known and most popular blues singers of the 1920s and 1930s, Howlin’ Wolf, BB King, and contemporary performers.
