Amplified Aleworks, East Village, hosts “The Magic Underground” a magic/comedy show.

Enjoy magic and stand-up comedy. Arrive early and sample Amplified Ale Works’ full menu (pizzas, burgers, kebabs, beers, and mixed drinks) before the show in The Acid Vault. This month Trigg Watson shows his high-tech magic as seen on Penn & Teller’s Fool Us, Masters of Illusion, America’s Got Talent, and Magic for Humans on Netflix. Magician and host of The LA/San Diego backyard show and hangout Just Tryna Make Friends, Julie Rowland, will join.

La Rumorosa Rock Art

A Facebook Live presentation on the rock art left by the Kumeyaay Native Americans who have lived in the mountains east of the San Diego for at least 10,000 years.

Kumeyaay Native Americans have lived in the San Diego region for at least 10,000 years. Their spiritual shamanistic system of beliefs is reflected in the rock art that survives in the deserts and mountains east of the city. Dr. Don Liponi, who has studied rock art for 50 years, organized a group of more than 50 professionals and Native Americans to recover the rock art of the Kumeyaay-Patayan “lost cultures.”

Cloonee is one of many performers at DAY.MVS XL Electronic Music festival at Waterfront Park on August 7 & 8.

An offshoot of the electronic dance music festival CRSSD (happening in late September), the San Diego edition of Day.Mvs XL kicks off on Saturday with Cloonee, Felix Da Housecat, Fisher, Francesca Lombardo, Tiga, Freak On, Monolink, and MK. Sunday’s lineup showcases Lane 8, Lee K, Mathame, Nora En Pure, Rebuke, Recondite, Yotto, and Jeremy Olander.
