Geo Tour: San Diego’s First Peoples

This tour will examine a geologic cross-section of San Diego County, beginning at the coast and extending to the highest elevations of the Peninsula Range.

San Diego's First Peoples Tour Series

The geologic history of San Diego is dominated by the tectonic plates that collided to form the landscape that we see today. This tour will examine a geologic cross-section of San Diego County, beginning at the coast and extending to the highest elevations of the Peninsula Range. Visit the major rock types and learn the their various uses for stone tool and pottery production. This tour includes easy to moderate short-distance walking. Transportation and lunch provided.

When: Saturday, March 7, 8 am to 5 pm

Launched in 2015, the CRSSD Festival has evolved from a contemporary house and techno party to a full-on gathering of the EDM/electronic dance music tribe that showcases everything from pure pop to goth and experimental noise. On the bill: RÜFÜS DU SOL, Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, Gesaffelstein, Patrick Topping, Télépopmusik, Nora en Pure, Purple Disco Machine, I Hate Models, Soulwax, 2ManyDJs, Brodinski, Inner City, Majid Jordan, and the Rapture.

California’s only busker festival showcases the talents of national street performers in twenty-four acts. Expect knife throwing and juggling on unicycles. New this year is Buskers for Kids, an interactive experience that lets the youngest members of the audience try their hand at some tricks. Vote for who receives this year’s People’s Choice award.
