I have found Dr. Campbell to very responsive, her office staff outstanding!! ("Jen Campbell constituents urged to email her," Jan. 8, 2020)

I have always received a call back. unlike our mayor who never returns a call or email. Dr. Campbell worked very hard to get motorized scooters and other motorized vehicles off Mission Beach boardwalk.. They were a safety issue, and the boardwalk is a sidewalk. She put the people’s safety before the profits of scooter companies.. She continues to work hard to get short-term rentals out of our neighborhood. These motels in our neighborhoods are an on going problem, motels with no manager on site!! All-night parties, loud all day, they are not good neighbors. Short-term rentals take homes off the rental market for those who live and work here. When we have a housing shortage how could anyone think turning homes and apartments into to motels is a good thing? But the people who live and work here, need homes to live in and neighborhoods that are not inundated with motels out of control.

The homeless problem has improved so much in the last year. PB library is no longer a scary place for residents to use. Dr. Campbell won big b/c people know she has a history of working hard for the people. Lori Zapf in her term addressed none of these issues. My question to the Reader is do you only support Republicans? I hope that is not the case. You didn’t look at the facts, the issue she ran on, and the improvements she has made regarding these issues.

Stay-at-home Ed

I think it may be time for old Ed to hang up the tin fork for good (“Did Joan Crawford own the bar at Brian’s 24?,” Tin Fork, January 2). His getting the omelet he just ordered, to go and then describing how keeping it in the fridge for a couple of days made me sick. Although I’m sure he has done it before and knows how to do it, I doubt it could still be considered edible. I remember when Ed wouldn’t ever consider paying $14.99 for a burger let alone an omelet! I guess a burger may last him a week out of the fridge, but me thinks he may have eaten out once too too often for his own good, based on his leftover management. Confirmation of Joan Crawford’s heel marks aside, what did we learn from Ed this week? Maybe that it’s time for him to put down the fork and stay home and cook something.
