History Of The Modern Attack Submarine, 1941-1961

Join us for a Living Room Lecture by Captain Jim Bryant, U.S. Navy (Retired) on the evolution of the modern attack submarine from 1941 to 1961.

Enjoy a Living Room Lecture by Captain Jim Bryant, U.S. Navy (Retired) on the evolution of the modern attack submarine from 1941 to 1961. In 1941, submarines became sophisticated weapons of war, but were still just torpedo boats that could submerge for short periods of time to avoid attack. Over the next 20 years, thanks to changing shapes and the development of sensors, submarines became quieter, faster, and capable of operating at increased depths. These significant improvements resulted in the THRESHER Class submarine, the template for all modern nuclear submarines. Event held via Zoom.

Belly Up Livestream: The Score - Carry On

The Score: performing their new album, "Carry On" live from Belly Up.

NYC alternative rock duo The Score first earned notice when one of their songs was used for a TV commercial advertising a supermarket chain. Its popularity led to their being signed and releasing a series of hit singles — like this summer’s “All Of Me,” with local Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. They’ll do a livestream performance from the Belly Up stage featuring their new album Carry On, which drops at the end of the month.
